Dr. Seuss
I hope I don't seem like a Grinch with my stress free holiday series. I just want you all to know that even though I'm not at my healthiest point physically, I am still doing everything to enjoy every minute of life. I hope by sharing, I can give you ideas of how you can do this even when life is tough.
So, something I've learned very recently . . . LISTEN TO YOUR FREAKING DOCTORS! Yeah. So, yesterday, I felt better. Went shopping to finish up Christmas stuff. I keep saying that, don't I? Made myself extremely sick. So much pain today that I actually cried, and I don't cry. Seriously! I'm a tough cookie. Do you know that the ER doctor actually called me yesterday to check on me? Who does that? Wow! I'm impressed. So, basically, I got caught and reprimanded. I promise I am now sitting on my behind doing a whole lot of nothing today. I shall continue this activity into tomorrow. Two days of rest. Yep.
In the meantime, let's talk stress free holidays. Yeah! Think it is an extremely appropriate topic considering my situation. Ha!
Find your peace.
You've heard that you have to take care of yourself first if you're going to be able to take care of others. This is the perfect time to actually do this. Give yourself the gift of peace. If you are relaxed, (I'm talking body, mind, and spirit here) you are going to have so much more fun. I was reading about aromatherapy, because I love my house and my body to smell yummy. The scents of peppermint, pine, and vanilla are all known to energize your spirit. Peppermint? Christmas? Hmmmm. Coincidence? So, here's my guidelines for finding your peace.
* Use aroma therapy. Very inexpensive and a healthy way to get a little lift.
* Schedule a massage. Yes. Do it! You deserve it!
* Practice yoga. Yoga Daily Workout is a great Android app, and it's free! When you're feeling good and happy, it will naturally rub off on those around you.
* Give gift cards. You know those parties that pop up or that one person on your list that you totally forgot to buy for? Don't think of a gift card as thoughtless. It gives the recipient the opportunity to purchase what they want and even more stuff than you might have been able to afford, because they can use it during the after holiday sales.
Peace out, my loves.
