The Soul of One
(Me Part I)
I am more than I appear
More than you see
More than even I can imagine.
I am one
But the product of many
I am my daddy’s little girl
My mom’s worst headache
But also her best friend
The cookie lady’s granddaughter
A child of love.
I am Mommy when I’m loved
Mother when I’m despised
And Mom for everything in between.
On the outside . . .
I am a small milk bubble
Encapsulated in this body that is me
But not who I am.
On the inside . . .
I am a giant rainbow of color
Spanning worlds, ideas, and ages
Forty-five years old, but also 5, 10, 16, 21
Ageless and evolving.
I am more than sex
More than “I love you”
I am a deep running river
Flowing into the ocean of relationship.
I am a lover, a friend
A mother, a daughter
A sister, a woman
A survivor, a fighter
I am an awakener of minds
Still, I am always learning
Always growing.
I am nothing that you expect
Everything that I will become
Everything that I have been
A soul in motion.
