I'm back at my daily tips in the photo section at the end of the blog. Check it out before you log off. In the meantime, keeping with the Top 10 theme, here's my Top 10 for today.
Top 10 Tips for Living Beyond Breast Cancer
1. Set grand goals. Think big. Do the things you thought you couldn't. Set the goals, then go after them!
2. Don't be afraid to let your needs be known. If you're tired, and you need someone to mop the floors, ASK, for heaven's sake.
3. Be spontaneous. Take every opportunity to live life fully that comes your way. If a friend calls out of the blue and says, "Let's go to lunch," don't stress about the dishes in the sink or the fact that you didn't do your hair today. Do the dishes when you get home, throw your hair in a pony tail, and go!
4. Exercise. Exercise might be different than you're used to. Adjust, get up, and get active. Today was ab day for me. I love endorphins! Woo hoo!
5. Eat well. Yes, you actually have to eat. I'm not hungry most of the time, but staying healthy and taking care of myself is a must. There will be a future post with healthy recipes that I have discovered. Watch for it!
6. Delegate. You do not have to do everything. At work and at home, give people things to do that are not necessary for you to do. This takes some practice if you are like me and think you can do everything on your own. It's silly. Don't be like me.
7. Sleep AT LEAST 8 hours a night. 9 or 10 won't hurt.
8. Do something nice for yourself EVERY day. Bubble bath, manicure, a glass of wine, a piece of chocolate, a long walk. There are a million ways you can do this.
9. Share your story. Start your own blog, talk to people, be open. Your story is important.
10. Encourage others. We have been given this journey for a reason. There is always someone you can lift up.
