Really tired today. Thought I'd share a typical day of recovery with you today.
8:00 Wake up, take a pain pill, do lymph node massage, get ready for the day. You know what they say. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up, and show up. I always feel better dressed and groomed.
9:00 Make a pot of tea and fix my protein drink.
9:30 Walk and hang out with Janie and Kayden. Up to 1.3 miles on our walks now.
10:00 At some point during the day, there is usually a visit or a phone call. Today, I went to Sarah's for tea. First time driving since surgery. Took a lot more energy than I thought. I drive a stick shift so repetitive movement is a bit of a struggle.
11:00 Work on blog. Do something creative.
12:00 Take a pain pill, do a few simple chores (dishes, laundry, or wipe down counters), eat lunch.
1:00 Nap.
3:00 Watch TV, read, check email.
4:00 Take a pain pill, watch a movie.
6:00 Fix dinner.
7:00 Meditate.
8:00 Take a pain pill, lymph node massage, bath time.
9:00 Tamoxifen, Klonopin, Zoloft, read, bed.
Now you know why I need my friends and family. There's too much time to think. I need things to keep my mind busy.
Now that the pain is ebbing, fatigue has set in. I'm so tired so often. Oh well, I said I was ready for the next leg of the journey. Here it is. Time to fight and work through exhaustion. Let's do this!
Something I wrote today:
When You Passed By
I saw you today
You passed by without looking at me
A trail of memories followed you
the smell of your neck
the first taste of love
an oak table between us and your smile
the laughter that bubbles up from your toes and floats out of your
throat
You passed by before
You saw me then
morning sun sprinkled on your shoulders
a touch, a caress
stopped in our tracks
I saw you today
But you didn't see me
A trail of memories followed you
Like the exhaust from a tail pipe
your smell on an empty pillow
the taste of salty tears
silence
You passed by and my life changed forever.
